[MBZ] '92 300TE: Any concerns specific to the engine on these?

So, I went and checked out the TE tonight.  It's a 4-Matic.  The 4wd light
was on the whole time; does this mean good things or bad?  I didn't notice
any unusual noises emanating from the transfercase or front axle assembly,
though there are receipts from three years ago, indicating the axles had
been replaced.

It's recently had the headgasket, radiator, tensioner and muffler replaced.
